Best Dog Park in NYC - Hillside!
Alexander Reykjavik loves Hillside dog park, between Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO. It is a 2 acre dog park, with enough room for him to run. We try to spend the weekend mornings here. Looking down from the top of the hill, here is the panorama from left to right. This is looking toward Old Fulton Street, and Grimaldi's Pizza (2 blocks away).
Rotating right, the middle view. AR is down there in front of the picnic table. At the far end of the park is a small fenced off area for the little dogs.
.
In the background is 70 Washington, jCondo, and Beacon Tower (tall slender building on the right), all recently added to the residential market in DUMBO. Alexander Reykjavik will soon be added to jCondo, the one behind the grand old warehouse building in the forefront (70 Washington). jCondo is the one with the tiny watertower at the very top. We can see our condo in this shot, which means we will be able to watch his dog friends in the park.

Alexander Reykjavik and Ball
We have had the baby Dane for a month now, and he finally has a name. We were choosing between Alexander the Great (Dane), and Reykjavik, which is where we were going on a trip when we found out he was available. So we had to postpone getting him for 4 weeks while we took out trip to Iceland. We flew home to New York one day, then back out to the airport to pick him up the next day .
Instead of deciding between one name or the other, it came to me in the middle of the night that it should be both names, hence Alexander Reykjavik. I think it sounds like a Nobel Prize winner. Or a Great big dog.
