After wearing out Alexander Reykjavik at the Hillside Dog Park in DUMBO/Brooklyn Heights, we left him in the Mini Cooper . . .

while we ate brunch at Five Front in DUMBO.

We found a great seat at this window . . .

with a view of AR in the car down the street. He stared in our direction the entire time.
When we pulled into the parking space, there was a photographer nearby, taking photos of the DUMBO environs. As we left for the restaurant, he started taking pictures of AR in the car.

Here he is on the left in the photo, still taking shots as we returned from brunch. His name was Jirka, originally from Prague, now living down the road in Red Hook, Brooklyn. I had watched out the window, and he was continuously taking pics of AR, from every angle, the entire time. I hope got some good ones!AR's "Thank god you came back" look.

Alexander Reykjavik Gets His Own Car

In the rental car to drive to New Haven to pick up his new car. The back seat headroom in this Pontiac just sucks!

Packing up the new Mini Cooper convertible, before Reykjavik tries it out.

Now THIS is headroom!

Mini Coopers

Shopping for a car for Alexander Reykjavik. Living in Williamsburg, we are finding it hard to get AR anywhere unless we hire a pet taxi for 50-100 per trip. The cost and the having to reserve days ahead of time makes it a bad option for us. We are excited to take him to Prospect Park, Central Park, the beach, etc., so even though I have thoroughly enjoyed not having a car in New York City, it seems a necessity now.

We have settled on a Mini Cooper convertible, which are small, nimble, and have virtually no backseat leg room. Its the perfect small car for a Great Dane.
