Pet Airways Takes Flight in Summer 2009

One of my biggest buzzkills is having to leave Reykjavik home when we travel. Now if you are lucky enough to fall in love with a 20 pound or under furry friend, you can take them in the cabin of an airplane with you, but if, like us, you have a MUCH larger best friend, its quite a different story.

Finally there is a less stressful way to get your best friend to his/her destination.

You cannot fly WITH your pet, which would be ideal, and the flights go out of smaller regional airports, so this will involve an extra trip to drop them off before you head to your own "people flight", most likely at a larger airport. So there is some extra expense and inconvenience. When I think back on the four day road trip from New York City to the very tip of Florida last year with Alexander Reykjavik, I am willing to have some extra expense to make it quicker for us all.

Currently Pet Airways is flying to NYC, Washington D.C., Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles. I have my fingers crossed that they will head south to a Florida destination this winter. It would be a much easier way to get A-Reyk down to Key West.
