Dori,

I was searching at random for a Dane sized chew under "great dane chews", and your blog was the very first citation. At first, you may think, "No big deal." But bear with me. . .

My wife and I just received a letter from Idlewild Kennels regarding our Male Merle "Faust", who came to us from them on March 1 this year. His DOB is Dec. 13, 2007, and his original name was Aurora, which we subsequently changed. And like your kid, ours had to "grow into" the magnitude of Goethe's classic protagonist.

Faust's sire is Titus (Idlewild Kennels), whose sire is Russian Champion/Euro Grand Champion Tabarka de la Benjamine (La Benjamine Danes). Faust is the spitting image of your Alexander. I think we may have siblings here!

If you'd be interested in establishing contact with us, my email is ahug300hp(at)yahoo.com. This is just too much of a serendipitous occurence for my wife and I to pass on at least the offer of being contacted.

We love the pics and have many of Faust (and our other three female Danes). We have no blog, but can send you some pics of the family. You are obviously cut from the same "Danelover" cloth. . . and looks like the "animal lover" cloth as well.

Very cool!
