In The Mansion

Alexander Reykjavik did really well with with all that he was asked to do, except for one thing. The nights we were filming were quite hot and muggy, and coupled with the set lighting, it made for a warm stuffy environment. A bit warmer than AR would have liked. His mark for this scene was the wood floor, between the rug (he was not to set foot on it, per the home owner request), and the tile floor (which would bring him forward out of the camera frame).

Filming involves lots of waiting, and between takes, he would want to inch his way out onto the cool tile floor. I would move him back onto the wood floor, he would stay positioned properly for quite awhile, then . . .

. . . he move his front paws and head out over the sweet cold tile again - aaaaaahhhhhhh.

By the end of the night, he just wanted to go to sleep, which is what he is normally doing at 3am. All in all, he was quite a trooper, and did all the other behaviors well. He even left with one of the actors on cue (off-leash), something we have never practiced. What a good boy.
