Dog Beaches in the Northeast

Dog Beaches: I have looked all over trying to find a good website that spells out where we can take Alexander Reykjavik for a beach outing, now that our favorite, Coney Island, is off-limits for the summer. This link is one of the best pages I have found, but it was last updated in 2004, so beware of possible changes since then.

I notice that MA is far more dog friendly than NY, where beaches are concerned:

"NY State Parks and National Parks Dogs prohibited from state beaches, year round. Leashed dogs allowed on Fire Island National Seashore, but may be prohibited from swimming beaches."

MA Cape Cod National Seashore Dogs allowed on beach on lead, year round. However, they are restricted from nature trails, bathing beaches, and shore bird nesting areas from May 15 to October 15.
MA Cape Cod Rock Harbor Beach allows dogs off leash!
MA State Parks Dogs allowed on lead in all state parks with the significant exceptions of Gallop Island, George's Island, Halibut Pt., South Cape Beach (as well as some inland sites).
MA Provincetown The last time we were up there, all of the beaches allowed dogs on lead. Found no restrictions to the contrary.
MA Duxbury Beach Dogs allowed on beach on lead or other effective control year round, with specific area restrictions from May 1 to Sept. 15
MA Nantucket Many beaches on the island are dog friendly.
