So be smart: travel with your hound during off-peak hours. One of our sources told us she takes her dog on the subway in a shopping cart.

January 2010 in NOLA (New Orleans, Louisiana) A-Reyk finally got to meet the sweet Tulah, who lives on Magazine Street at Syle Lab for Men.

Not only does Tulah look like Reykjavik, she seems to have a very similar personality as well. Typical Danes, they were a bit standoffish at first, but, untypical of Reykjavik, they warmed up to each other and were playing together like old pals within 15 minutes.

A-Reyk's Everyday Collar

I get lots of questions about Reykjavik's daily collar. It is the Lupine "Bling Bonz" style.It is very durable, goes through daily dogplay and is ground into the grass and dirt repeatedly, but somehow always appears clean. It has the easy snap closure, and is adjustable. I love the fancy leather collars, but for everyday wear, this is the best. plus, it comes in so many styles and colors, there is one to complement every dog.

The collar shown in Reykjavik's headshot is my favorite ever - a custom made leather with two rows of studs ans a row of small stars in the middle. However, he went through two separate incidents where he cut the tips of his ears, and it took months for the wound to heal each time, leaving him with small nips out of each ear. If you look closely, you can see in this photo in the black portion of the ear, next to his cheek, there is a small divot along the edge.

I believe it was caused by the tiny sharp stars on the collar. He often shakes his head violently, and the ears go flying. He could put an eye out with those things. The ears used to slap on the stars on the collar, and the stars created a tiny laceration on the edge of them.. He has not had a problem since we changed collars. Things like this are fine for photo shoots, but better to have the softer collar for everyday.

Today Reykjavik got to go visit G at work, on Park Avenue. Here he is with Grand Central and the MetLife Building behind him.

Then he went to explore the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. He has a good eye for antiquities. Here he is appreciating the beautiful clock in the lobby. It was created for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Nine feet tall, the clock weighs two tons. It makes even Reykjavik, at 130 pounds, look small.
